This project was done as a part of the final year thesis project at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology. The brief for this project was to create communication outcomes for increasing the Brand Presence of Karnataka Tourism. Karnataka is a state that offers a little bit of everything to everyone, which undoubtedly drove the existing tagline for Karnataka’s Tourism - “One State, Many Worlds.”

A traveller has numerous stories to tell, these stories are made of moments of happiness, discoveries, belongingness etc. This project is intended to promote a place through traveller's experiences and indirectly showcase what the place has to offer.

The city of Mysore, Karnataka has retained the old-world charm of its past. The grandeur of its monuments, the allure of its history and the warmth of its people makes it one of the best cities to visit in India. The festival of Mysore Dasara, known as the ‘Nada Habba’ (festival of the land) is embedded deep into the history and culture of this city. Mysore Dasara thus portrays the perfect mix of royalty, history and rich culture of Karnataka. Mysore Dasara means many things to many people.

The film portrays a Special Darbar ceremony that originated in the 15th century, during the reign of the Vijayanagar Empire. Another part of the celebrations portrayed is the spectacular Jumbo Savari. In this procession a specially chosen elephant carries the idol of Goddes Chamundeshwari in a golden howdah, weighing almost 750kgs. Masked artisans, folk dancers, acrobats, musicians, other decorated elephants and horses accompany the idol. It also depicts the Dasara doll festival aka Bombe Habba, a unique celebration with an array of dolls. The film ends with the beautiful sight of illuminated Mysore from Chamundi Hills in the evening.
